Welcome to the University of Cape Town (UCT) National Bioinformatics Network Node (NBN) web portal for Genomics and Proteomics.  This resource is aimed at researchers working in the microarray arena and will guide you through the microarray experiment from design to data mining. It is currently focussed on cDNA arrays, but will be extended in future to include other types of arrays, for example, protein arrays.

The portal provides access to the tools and databases supported by UCT. It gives a UCT-centric view of the publicly available data analysis software packages, along with documents for user support. Links are provided to BASE, the UCT microarray database, and Paeano, the pipeline we developed for annotation of cDNA sequences from non-model organisms.

The portal also provides links to public microarray databases, online tutorials and user manuals. A mailing list is available for researchers interested in discussing their experiments and questions they may have.
